Malvern, St. Elizabeth- Munro College revived their hopes of advancing to the semi-finals of the Galloway Cup with a 1-0 win over Manchester High on Monday. Mark Parchment sealed the win for Munro.
In other Galloway Cup games, York Castle moved to the top of the group with a 3-0 thrashing of William Knibb, while Manning's edge Green Island 1-0 to stay even with York Castle on seven (7) points, but with an inferior goal average.
In U14 action Munro earned a 1-1 draw against Manchester High. Nicholas Collins scored for Munro.
Munro are gunning to overtake Manning's High in the race for one of two semi-final spots in the Galloway Cup when they meet today at Munro. Manning's have allowed just one goal while scoring four in the three quarterfinal games, and will be tough to beat, but Munro are a strong offensive unit with seven goals in three games, while allowing three goals.
The Munro U14 team must win all of their remaining games if they hope to advance. They will come up against a determined Godfrey Stewart team.
