Munro End Season on High Note

Malvern, St. Elizabeth-Munro spanked BB. Coke 5-2 courtesy of a four timer by Kriswayne Wallace and a single by Okeem Royal. It was an unfortunate season for the boys from Malvern who lost only once but failed to advance from the zone for the first time since 1999 (The Year Munro placed Fourth).

There is yet hope for these youngsters. They are the youngest team Munro has fielded for any Dacosta Cup since 1999. Only 3 regular starters are unable to play next year, therefore the prospects are good.

See you at the games.

Munro draw with Lacovia 1-1

LACOVIA, St.Elizabeth-Munro College are left cursing their luck after surrendering a 1-0 lead to Lacovia High away in their key Zone E encounter.

Munro came at Lacovia like a team possessed and nearly scored when Allen Bell rushed down the left flank and crossed to Safial Mason who's diving header just missed the far post (See Video). Lacovia gradually settled down and started counter attacking with play down the flanks.

Munro could have gone ahead latter on in the first half when Odane Reid headed past the Lacovia goalkeeper, but he recover to stop the ball before it went over the goal line. The half ended goalless.

Munro attacked Lacovia relentlessly in the second half and were rewarded with a direct free-kick. Dayton Stuart made no mistake as he blasted the ball into the Lacovia net (See Video).

Lacovia tried desperately to equalize and won a corner at the other end. This corner would cost Munro the lead, as the ball was headed into the Munro net without a challenger from the Munro defense.

Munro regained the ascendancy in the game and came close to scoring when Allen Bell picked up a pass inside the box but fired high over the goal. Munro could have scored in injury time but striker Jermaine Samms' header was well saved by the Lacovia keeper.

Munro will now have to win their 3 remaining games which incidentally are home games and hope that Lacovia have an additional loss and a draw.
