Munro and Petersfield FC draw 0-0

Savannalamar, Westmoreland- The Munro College U17 football team left the Llandilo Football Field fuming after point man Demari Stevens' header was adjudged offside from an Okeem Royal free-kick which curled beautifully around the Petersfield defensive wall.

Munro was no where near full strength as only 12 youngsters could make the trip for this match which was played on an outing weekend. Munro total dominated the first half against the group leaders and should have scored on 2 other occasions.

The first miss came from Chavez Anglin when headed wide from a cross that beat the Petersfield goalkeeper. Chrishem Black collected a pass from the right but failed to turn and shoot while unmarked in the box.

Had Munro won this game they would have assumed leadership of the zone. Munro now have six points from 4 games, but are in a good position having to play teams that are near the bottom of the group.

Munro enter Westmoreland FA U17 Competition

Savannalamar, Westmoreland- Munro College in an effort to develop the young football talent at that institution has entered the Westmoreland FA U17 tournament. Coach Hopeton Gilchrist has registeed a squad of 30 players ranging from U14 to Dacosta Cup.

In their 2 games so far the Munro College team displayed penach which has made them the talk of the town.

Munro played their first game against premier league outfit Reno FC without a large number of key players due to clashes with other sporting activities. They were unfortunate not to have clinched the win when a Shaunovan Dezousa scorcher from the outside right hit the cross bar, and the follow up oppurtunity was headed over the bar by striker Waldane Hampton. Substitute and U16 striker Chrishem Black made his way to the top of the Reno 18 yard box, but kicked powerfully into the hands of the goalkeeper. The game ended in a 0-0 score.

In their second match Munro continued to miss the imput of a number of key players due to half term holidays, but still managed to put in a decent performance to earn a 1-1 draw with Forever Sports courtesy of a Kenry Rowe free-kick.
