Munro College hammer Manning's High 3-0

A brace from Craig "Breakfast" Foster, and a well placed free kick from Kriswayne "Tappa" Wallace carried Munro College to a 3-0 drubbing of Manning's High in Savannalamar, Westmoreland.


Munro College will now turn their attention to the Jackson Shield game on August 30,2008 at Munro College beginning at 2:30pm.

Munro defeat Frome 3-1

Former Dacosta Cup Champions Munro College, had their biggest win of the season when they defeated former champions Frome Technical 3-1 at The Petersfield Community Centre in Westmoreland.
The Frome defense were tormented all afternoon by the Munro strike force of Chris Wint, Jermaine Samms, Kemar Howard and Craig Foster.Munro produced many chances before scoring, but were let down by poor finishing.
This would change midway the first half when striker Chris Wint headed calmly into the Frome net.
Kemar Howard made it two in a row when he blazed down the right and fired into the goal. Munro surged further ahead when Howard got behind the Frome defense to take his tally to 2.
Frome's only consolation came when they scored what appeared to be an offside goal.
Munro will next play St. James High on teusday, August 19,2008.

Seven time Dacosta Cup Champions Munro College ousted their rivals Cornwall College 2-0 on penalties at Jarrett Park, Montego Bay.






The game was an exciting affair with Munro having the better of play. Munro missed several chances, especially in the second half.






The game ended 0-0 and had to be decided on sudden death penalties. The Munro College custodian Deandre Samms came up big when he saved a penalty giving Munro the 2-0 win. Kriswayne Wallace and Carl Simpson also scored for Munro.






This victory carried Munro to the quarter finals where they played Ruseas. Munro again had the better of play through out the match. Kemar Howard breaking down the right side with only the goalkeeper to beat but failed to shoot.






Ruseas got a free kick 30 yards from goal. Former Jamaica U17 Captain Damaine Thompson fired wickedly past goalkeeper Samms who got a hand to the ball.






Munro stepped up their attack in the second half producing numerous opportunities. Munro right back Oneil Legister had the best chance of the game when he got by 3 Ruseas players, but shot the ball directly at the goalkeeper, who parred it over the cross bar.






Ruseas went on to win the game 1-0, but where beaten on penalties By Dacosta Cup champions Garvey Maceo, who lost 3-2 on penalties to Jamaica College in the final.

Munro vs Cornwall in 20/20 Football Tournament

Munro College will renew their rivalry with Cornwall College in the 3rd game of the Linkz 96 FM 20/20 Football Tournament. The tournament which commences at 9am at Jarrett Park, is a knock-out competition of 20 minutes each half of which 12 teams were invited.

Munro clip Holmwood in Rematch

Munro College returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Holmwood Technical courtesy of a clinical second half header from Kriswayne "Tappa" Wallace.

Munro will now renew their rivalry with former champions Godfrey Stewart High tomorrow August 6,2008.

Essex Valley defeated by Young Brazilians

The curtain came down Saturday on the 36th Norway Cup football tournament with the Jamaican Alpart/ Essex Valley football team finishing second in Zone C after bowing 0-4 to Pequeninos of Brazil in the final.
The Brazilians, who have won the Cup 18 times, played better football under wet conditions and after leading 3-0 in the first half, went on to clinch the match with a penalty five minutes into the second half.
Ademilson Dos Santos with a brace, and Mattheus Morelli scored for the winners.
Essex Valley placed second out of 128 teams in the zone. The tournament attracted a record 1,500 junior club teams from 50 countries.
Alpart's managing director Alberto Fabrini has congratulated the Under-14 boys "for being excellent ambassadors for Jamaica on and off the field".
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) president Captain Horace Burrell had earlier addressed the team in Jamaica, extending best wishes on behalf of the federation

Essex Valley into Norway Cup Final

Munro College U14 stand outs Kaneil Harrison and Kaya Beckford plus incoming student Mark Parchment will experience the first ever Norway Cup final for the Essex Valley All Stars team.

The Essex Valley All Stars football team gave Jamaica an Emancipation Day gift when they marched their way into the final of the Norway Cup (Under-14 category) yesterday after beating Bjerkeallianson of Norway in the quarter-finals and Fjolnif of Iceland in the semi-finals.The boys got to this historic mark for the first time when they edged Bjerkeallianson 2-1 in their first match of the day. They had to come from behind as Bjerkeallianson scored first in the 15th minute. It took two goals from striker Kevon Farquharson, the first in the 28th minute and the second in the 32nd minute, to give the Essex Valley boys the victory.In the second match, the semi-final, they defeated Fjolnif 2-0 to advance to the final. Both goals came from midfielder Khesanio Hall, who scored the opening goal in the 14th minute and the second in the 39th minute to seal victory for the team.The young Essex Valley boys will now face Pequeninos of Brazil today in the final at Ekeberg Stadium. Match time is 12:30 pm (5:30 am local time).

Vere surprise Munro

Vere Technical came from behind to defeat Munro College 2-1 in their practice match on Wednesday July 30,2008.

Kriswayne Wallace got the lone goal of the game for Munro. Munro will now return to camp on August 4, 2008 after the break for the holiday.
