Munro defeat Holmwood

Munro College, with a hat trick through Captain Kriswayne Wallace extended their unbeaten run with a 3-2 win over Holmwood Technical at Holmwood last Thursday July 24,2006.

Munro thoroughly dominated the first half and where up 2-0 before the interval. Holmwood pulled back a goal, when they where gifted a penalty after kicking the ball off the shin and unto the hand of Munro defender Okeem Royal.

Munro increased their lead with a spot kick from Kriswayne Wallace to make it 3-1.

Holmwood where awarded a free kick on the edge of the unmarked 18 yard box when the Munro goalkeeper was adjudged to have collected the ball out of the box. Holmwood scored from the resulting free kick.

Munro College Draws with Division 1 Finalists

The Munro College Dacosta Cup squad fine tuned their preparations for the 2008 season with a 0-0 draw against St. Elizabeth Division 1 Finalist Treasure Beach FC. Munro will next play Holmwood Technical away on Thursday July 24,2008.

Munro Thrash Irwin High 4-0

Jermaine Samms scores his second goal against Irwin High

Munro College with goals from Chris Wint, Allen Bell and a brace from ace striker Jermaine Samms, hammered third place Zone A team Irwin High 4-0 at the Irwin High football grounds in Montego Bay. All goals came in the first half.


Munro will next play St. Elizabeth Division 2 Semi Finalist Treasure Beach on Tuesday July 22,2008, and Holmwood Technical on Thursday July 24,2008.

MUNRO Defeat STETHS 1-0 at Lion's Invitational

The Munro College DaCosta Cup team defeated STETHS 1-0 at the STETHS Sports Complex on Saturday July 12,2008. STETHS having acquired the services of a new coach in Andrew "Colours" Edwards formally of Titchfield High, and a number of recruits, were looking to reverse their fortunes against Munro.


STETHS had the first shot on goal in the early going which was well saved by goalkeeper Deandre "Flucko"Samms. Towards the end of the first half STETHS threatened the Munro goal with a torrid freekick which was parried onto the crossbar by goalkeeper Samms.


Munro came out in the second half looking more purposeful. Ace striker Jermaine" Sampo" Samms weaved his way through and fire a shot from long range just missing the upright. Munro would take the lead when Allan Bell got by two players and neatly passed to Samms who was brought down in the box. Munro captain Kriswayne "Tappa"Wallace obliged giving Munro the victory.


The featured game of the double header was an over 35 match between Lions Football Club out of Long Island New York and STETHS All Stars. The STETHS allstars team boasted Dacosta Cup legends such as Clive "Spider" Wedderburn, Wendell Dowswell, Calvin Valentine, and Carl "Lond Life" Palmer. The allstars went ahead through a one time volley by Calvin Valentine, but the visitors duelly responded with the equaliser soon after. The game ended 1-1.


This now marks the third time in a row that Munro College has defeated STETHS. Munro will now turn their attention to Irwin High on Thursday July 17,2008 at 3:30pm in Montego Bay.
