Munro exit Dacosta Cup with Win

Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth- Ben Francis Finalists Munro College went out with a bang when they demolished Bellefield High by 5-0.

Chris "Chriwi"Wint found his scoring boots to score thrice, while Kenry"Shorty"Rowe, and Jordan"Betti"Bell accounted for one a piece. With this result Munro became the most prolific team in Group 3, failing to advance by a single point.

U14/U16 Report:Munro slam Aubuthnott Gallimore 5-1 (U16)

Malvern, St. Elizabeth- Many time Galloway Cup champions Munro College hammered Aubuthnott Gallimore 5-1 with goals from Shaunuvan Desouza, Kaneil Harrison, Levar Dunchie and Amin Miller (Twice).

Malvern, St. Elizabeth- The Munro College U14 team had 1-0 wins in matches against STETHS and Lacovia. Jermaine Perry scored against STETHS and Antonio Gregg scored against Lacovia.

The Munro U16 team did just as well with a 2-0 win over Newell, and a 1-0 win over STETHS. Levar Dunchie scored one a piece in both games, with Kashif Miller scoring in the Newell game

Munro out of Dacosta Cup

Munro Lineup for Ben Francis Final

Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth- Ben Francis Finalist Munro were sent crashing out of the Dacosta Cup when they failed to score numerous opportunities against Spalding.

Spalding soaked up a lot off pressure, but managed to score from two elementary defensive errors by Munro. The first goal was scored when Lloyd Tyme came off his goal line and missed the ball totally. The second scored when central defender Leighton Thorpe ricocheted the ball of his own defender, provided an opening for Spalding to tap in.

Despite these errors, Munro could have drawn the game, missing even an empty goal in the process.

We would like to thank all those who supported the team, and look forward to more support next year, as 16 members of the team will be returning for next year.

Munro salvage draw with Clarendon

Jamalco, Clarendon- Ben Francis finalists Munro College came away with a 1-1 draw against former champions Clarendon College.

Clarendon scored early when Munro central defender Leighton Thorpe lost his footing, was robbed of the ball, and with Munro keeper Lloyd Tyme at his mercy the Clarendon attacker fired into the goal.

Munro was resolute and came back strongly, pegging Clarendon in their half for long periods. The opportunities came and went, but Munro would get the equalizer late in the second half.

Rasheem Eccleston curled a corner into the Clarendon goal area which presented all kinds of problems for the Clarendon defense, resulting in an own goal.

Munro went in search of the winner, with Errol Davis racing past the Clarendon defense to cross inside, Rafique Roberts resulting shot went straight at the Clarendon goalkeeper.

Munro will play last year's beaten finalists Spalding Comprehensive on Saturday at STETHS beginning at 3:00pm.

Munro stunned by Glenmuir 3-0

Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth- Munro College were shocked by Glenmuir 3-0 in the final of the Ben Francis completion.
Munro squandered many chances early and paid dearly for their misses, when Ricardo Webber guided a free kick into the goal to give Glenmuir a first half lead.

Munro went on the attack in the second half and could have equalized on a number of occasions, until Jamar Jackson's free kick beat Lloyd Tyme at the far post. Paul Wilson sealed the issue 3 minutes from time when he beat two defenders to fire the ball to the inside of the far post.

Munro will next play Clarendon College at Jamalco in the Dacosta Cup on Wednesday at 3:30pm.

Munro U14 & U16 Report

Black River, St. Elizabeth- Munro College's U14 team came away with a 3-2 victory against Black River High. Derron Duncan had a brace, while Stephano Hinds grabbed a single.

The Munro U16 game with Black River ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
