Munro U14 and U16 Teams go Down to STETHS 2-1

Rural area U14 Champions Munro College suffered a minor setback when they gave up a 1-0 first half lead to STETHS. The scorer for Munro was Nycoi Sinclair.Munro suffered from the vagaries of faulty finishing and poor officiating. STETHS were gifted a penalty in the second half which allowed them to win the match.

In the U16 game, STETHS went ahead in the first 5 minutes when the Munro defence failed to clear a long range pass. The resulting shot was misjudge by the Munro goalkeeper as it appeared to be going over the bar.

Munro attacked STETHS relentlessly and Chavez Anglin could have equalised 2 minutes later, but his shot hit the side netting. Munro continued to miss scoring opportunities until they equalised from the penalty spot late in the second half.

STETHS were undaunted and scored against the run of play to make it 2-1. Munro went in search of the equaliser, but the referee ended they game prematurely with 7 minutes on the clock.

Munro ease Past Black River 2-0 (U14)

Black River, St. Elizabeth- Rural area U14 Champions Munro College commenced the defence of their title with an easy 2-0 win over Black River High. The diminutive Levar Dunchie (12yrs), and Riah Sanga (Penalty)got the goals for the champions.

Munro were in control from start to finish and dominated Black River with short snappy passing and pace.

Munro appear to be a team that is strong in every department, and it will be interesting to see if they can retain the crown. It most be noted that the 5'11 dynamo Kaneil Harrison (13yrs), and his Norway Cup teammate Mark Parchment did not play in this game. Parchment did not recieve his ID in time for the game, and Harrison is a key component of the Munro U16 Teams midfield.
