Resolute Munro outscore St. James High 3-2

Jarrett Park, St. James- Many time champions Munro College booked their place in the Final of the Ben Francis KO with a gutsy come from behind 3-2 win against Ben Francis champions St. James High.

St. James point man Allan Ottey slipped behind the Munro defense to open the scoring, shortly after Munro's Errol Davis and Jermaine Samms missed two sitters with both having the goalkeeper to beat.

Munro fought back valiantly when Samms was brought down by the St. James High goalkeeper just inside the box. Central defender Leighton Thorpe made no mistake from the spot.

Ricardo Morris would hand St. James the lead when he took advantage of a Munro defensive mix-up.

Munro was not through yet, and was determined to exploit the weaknesses in the St. James defense. Rasheem Eccleston broke away down the left, and beat the St. James defense with a cross that found the head of Errol "Sally" Davis who executed with precision.

Munro upped the pressure in search of the winner, and found it when Jermaine “Sampo” Samms fired the ball into the net.

With only a few minutes to go, Munro nearly gave way the lead when goalkeeper Lloyd Tyme, who was not having his best game, spilled the ball, and in his efforts to retrieve it foul a St. James High attacker. Allan Ottey would try in vain to score from the spot, with his shot going wide of the post.

Munro's opponent for the Ben Francis KO final will be Glenmuir High School. The final will be played this Saturday at STETHS beginning at 3:00pm.
