Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth- Errol "Sally" Davis shot Munro College into the semi-finals of the Ben Francis KO competition, when they defeated Manchester High on sudden death penalties 5-4.
Davis opened the scoring for Munro in the 63rd minute after Jermaine "Sampo" Samms robbed the Manchester defense of the ball, dribbled left, and passed to Rasheem Eccleston who swung a diagonal pass to find Davis who fired home at the far post.
Manchester would equalize two minutes later when Junior Neil dribbled past two Munro players down the left to swing a cross inside that was tapped in by substitute Errol Johnson.
Munro would assume control of the game from this point on, but could not find the net despite creating numerous opportunities.
With the teams still locked in a 1-1 stalemate, the dreaded penalty kicks would have to be the decider. Manchester's Shane Cousins missed the second penalty handing Munro the lead. Munro would score their first four penalties with Jordan "Betty" Bell required to score to clinch victory, but Bell's shot ricocheted of the cross bar, sending the match into sudden death penalties.
Munro's Kenry Rowe would miss the first penalty in sudden death when it was saved by the Manchester keeper, but Munro goalie Lloyd Tyme pulled of a brilliant save to keep Munro in the match. Errol Davis would score Munro next penalty which turned out to be the winner, after Manchester kicked away their next penalty.
Munro will next play Ben Francis Champions St. James High in a gigantic face-off at Jarret Park on Wednesday at 3:00pm.
