Newell, St.Elizabeth- Munro College came away with an emphatic 9-0 win over Newell High ahead of their big Ben Francis KO quarterfinal clash against Manchester High on Saturday at STETHS.
The lead by a four timer from the ultra skillful Chris "Chriwi" Wint, and one a piece from Shaunavan Dezousa, Carl Simpson, Jermaine Samms, Rasheem Eccleston, and Boris Bonnie, romped to an easy win over Newell despite resting a number of starters.
In the Ben Francis KO preliminary round, Manchester High and Paul Bogle defeated Manning's and Annotto Bay 2-0 respectively. Ruseas clipped Marcus Garvey 1-0, and Lennon High got the better of Spalding 3-0.
The Ben Francis quarterfinal games for Saturday will be as follows:
Dinthill vs. Paul Bogle
Glenmuir vs. Lennon
Munro College vs. Manchester High @ STETHS
St. James vs. Ruseas@ Jarrett Park
All matches will begin at 3:00pm to facilitate extra time and penalties if necessary.
