Munro clip STETHS 1-0
Munronians Lennox "Moony" Channer presents Kaneil Harrison with the MVP Ball
Malvern, St. Elizabeth- Fourteen year old Kaneil Harrison blasted Munro College to the top of Zone E when he fired home from inside the eighteen yard box to give Munro a 1-0 victory over STETHS.
Munro started slow with STETHS pressuring for most of the first half. STETHS could have snatched the lead when Deshorn Brown took advantage of a defensive mix up; rounding the goalkeeper, but fired over the top. Munro's lone chance of the first half came when Jermaine Samms collected a ball at the top of the goal area over dribbling in the process.
A re-energized and more purposeful Munro came out in the second half, taking control of the game. Munro would have to wait until the 72nd minute of play, when substitute Kaneil Harrison latched on to a loose ball, firing a well placed shot to the inside of the far post.
In other results, Balaclava High moved into second place on eight points with a 3-1 win over Newell High. Lacovia moved to six points with a 2-0 win over Black River High.
Munro will be gunning for a wide margin of victory when they take on bottom place Newell on Wednesday at home.
