The Munro College U16 team will be gunning to make it back to the Galloway Cup final when they take on Manchester High in a crucial semi-final game this Tuesday at Brook's Park beginning at 3pm. Munro reached the semi-finals with a gutsy 0-0 draw against Cornwall College in Montego Bay last Friday. Manchester High eliminated Ruseas High with a come from behind 3-1 win in Lucea. The champions have a tall task, as they come up against a Manchester team that boasts four Dacosta Cup players, with two national U17 players Delroy Miller, and Troy Moo-Penn among the four. Miller was kicked off the national U17 team for the time being for indiscipline.
Munro has four Dacosta Cup players who are under sixteen, with three among the four who have been invited at one time or another to the national U17 team camp. Since the inclusion of National U17 Goalkeeper Ahkeem Forbes, Munro has not concede a goal. Dacosta Cup striker and national U17 invitee Levar Dunchie, and Dacosta Cup reserve Antonio Gregg have been carrying injuries and have not been at their best so far. Jamaica national U17 midfielder Kaneil Harrison has opted to forgo playing for the Munro U16 team, in order to pursue his Boy's Champs and Carifta Games ambitions.
Manchester, will find it extremely difficult to breach the Munro defensive wall which boasts the likes of Derron Duncan, and second year veterans Cameron Bell and Brian Patterson. Captain Oshane Black is expected to marshal proceedings in the middle of the Park, while in form striker Nickoui Sinclair who missed the game against Cornwall is expected to return.
The Munro U14 team who beat Green Pond 1-0 courtesy of a Rojay Ottey strike, should have a less daunting task when they tackle Green Island at STETHS this Tuesday at 3pm.
