Carl Simpson scores Munro's second goal against Cornwall in penalty kicks
Seven time Dacosta Cup Champions Munro College ousted their rivals Cornwall College 2-0 on penalties at Jarrett Park, Montego Bay.
The game was an exciting affair with Munro having the better of play. Munro missed several chances, especially in the second half.
The game ended 0-0 and had to be decided on sudden death penalties. The Munro College custodian Deandre Samms came up big when he saved a penalty giving Munro the 2-0 win. Kriswayne Wallace and Carl Simpson also scored for Munro.
This victory carried Munro to the quarter finals where they played Ruseas. Munro again had the better of play through out the match. Kemar Howard breaking down the right side with only the goalkeeper to beat but failed to shoot.
Ruseas got a free kick 30 yards from goal. Former Jamaica U17 Captain Damaine Thompson fired wickedly past goalkeeper Samms who got a hand to the ball.
Munro stepped up their attack in the second half producing numerous opportunities. Munro right back Oneil Legister had the best chance of the game when he got by 3 Ruseas players, but shot the ball directly at the goalkeeper, who parred it over the cross bar.
Ruseas went on to win the game 1-0, but where beaten on penalties By Dacosta Cup champions Garvey Maceo, who lost 3-2 on penalties to Jamaica College in the final.
