Munro College U14 stand outs Kaneil Harrison and Kaya Beckford plus incoming student Mark Parchment will experience the first ever Norway Cup final for the Essex Valley All Stars team.
The Essex Valley All Stars football team gave Jamaica an Emancipation Day gift when they marched their way into the final of the Norway Cup (Under-14 category) yesterday after beating Bjerkeallianson of Norway in the quarter-finals and Fjolnif of Iceland in the semi-finals.The boys got to this historic mark for the first time when they edged Bjerkeallianson 2-1 in their first match of the day. They had to come from behind as Bjerkeallianson scored first in the 15th minute. It took two goals from striker Kevon Farquharson, the first in the 28th minute and the second in the 32nd minute, to give the Essex Valley boys the victory.In the second match, the semi-final, they defeated Fjolnif 2-0 to advance to the final. Both goals came from midfielder Khesanio Hall, who scored the opening goal in the 14th minute and the second in the 39th minute to seal victory for the team.The young Essex Valley boys will now face Pequeninos of Brazil today in the final at Ekeberg Stadium. Match time is 12:30 pm (5:30 am local time).
