Santa Cruz, St.Elizabeth- Munro College went down 3-0 to Ruseas High in the final of the rural U14 WESTERN Finals. Jason Johnson scored once, and the diminutive Anthony Walker who opted not to enter Munro in 2007 had a brace for Ruseas.
Munro lost control of the game defencively when their inspirational left back, first form student Romaine Spence suffered an injury in the first half of the game. Munro failed to mark the Ruseas players closely giving them room to attack at will and could have avoided conceding so many goals.
Munro did not appear mentally ready to play a very competitive team such as Ruseas and failed to train (Did not train saturday morning & monday evening for finals teusday) since beating STETHS in the semiifinals.
We would like to thank Coach Steve Cole and the entire U14 squad for reaching the finals.
Ruseas are now set to take on Kingston College in the all island finals.
